Councilman James Spadola Highlights Downtown YMCA’s 3rd Annual Sneaker Ball
Annual fundraiser will support YMCA programs serving individuals, youth, and families throughout the Wilmington community.
Wilmington, DE – At-Large Councilman James Spadola is encouraging Wilmington residents and community partners to support the Downtown YMCA’s 3rd Annual Sneaker Ball, taking place on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Delaware Art Museum, 2301 Kentmere Parkway in Wilmington.
The annual Sneaker Ball brings the community together for an evening of fellowship, dancing, music, local cuisine, drinks, and art, all while raising funds to support the Downtown YMCA and its mission to strengthen the community.
Guests are invited to dress in their best cocktail-chic attire paired with their favorite sneakers for an evening that puts a fun twist on traditional fundraising. Attendees will also have an opportunity to enjoy the Delaware Art Museum’s galleries during the event.
“The Downtown YMCA plays an important role in our Wilmington community by creating opportunities for our young people and families and providing programs that help people thrive,” said At-Large Councilman James Spadola. “The Sneaker Ball is a great opportunity to come together, enjoy an incredible evening, and support an organization whose work has a meaningful impact throughout our City. I encourage residents and community partners to purchase a ticket and support this important cause.”
Proceeds from the Sneaker Ball help support the Downtown YMCA’s community programs and services, including initiatives benefiting local youth and families, such as summer camps and youth development opportunities. Each all-inclusive ticket helps the YMCA continue providing resources and experiences designed to strengthen the Wilmington community.
