Councilwoman McCoy Partners with Delmarva Power to Offer Up to $500 in Energy Assistance

Wilmington, DE – Councilmember McCoy, representing District 6, in partnership with Delmarva Power and the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (SEU), will host a community energy assistance event on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4 p.m to 7 p.m at the MSK Community Center, 1009 Sycamore, Wilmington, DE.

The event will help eligible Wilmington residents apply for Delmarva Power’s Customer Relief Fund, a one-time assistance program offering eligible customers up to $500 in energy bill support. The program is made possible through a charitable contribution from Exelon, Delmarva Power’s parent company.

“Rising energy costs continue to challenge many families in our community,” said Councilmember McCoy. “This partnership ensures our residents have access to critical resources that can help them manage their energy expenses and stay connected to essential services.”

In addition to assistance applications, Delmarva Power representatives will be on-site to:

  • Share practical tips for reducing energy consumption
  • Provide strategies for lowering monthly utility bills
  • Offer information about ongoing assistance programs and resources

What to Bring: Residents interested in applying should bring a photo ID. Proof of income and a recent utility bill.
