Councilman Hackett to Host College Scholarship Celebration Honoring Wilmington Students

Wilmington, DE
— At-Large Councilman Alexander Hackett is proud to host the inaugural Councilman Hackett College Scholarship Celebration this Friday, August 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Louis L.Redding City County Building.

The event will recognize and celebrate 43 deserving Wilmington students selected to receive scholarships and support funding from the Teen Warehouse through the newly launched Councilman Hackett College Scholarship Program. The scholarship fund—totaling $22,000—supports local youth pursuing higher education and vocational training, with individual awards ranging from $250 to $1,000.

“This event is about more than just giving out scholarships,” said Councilman Hackett. “It’s about celebrating the hard work and resilience of our young people and showing them that their city believes in their potential.”

  • Recognition of all scholarship recipients by At-Large Councilman Hackett
  • Remarks from Office of Educational Advocacy Director Dr. LaRetha Odumosu and other community leaders
