At-Large Councilman James Spadola Encourages Wilmington Students to Apply for Rotary Club Scholarships

Wilmington, DE – At-Large Councilman James Spadola is encouraging eligible high school seniors across the City of Wilmington to apply for the Rotary Club of Wilmington’s multi-year scholarship program, a long-standing investment in students who demonstrate financial need, leadership, community service, and academic achievement.
The Rotary Club of Wilmington offers renewable scholarships of up to $3,500 per year for up to four years to Wilmington residents pursuing post-secondary education, including two-year and four-year colleges, technical schools, and trade programs. The scholarship is open to Delaware high school seniors, public, private, or homeschooled, who reside in Wilmington zip codes 19801, 19802, 19805, 19806, or 19809, and who have been admitted to an eligible program.
“Education remains one of the most powerful pathways to opportunity,” said At-Large Councilman Spadola. “The Rotary Club of Wilmington has a long and proud history of lifting up our young people through scholarships that recognize not just academic success, but leadership, service, and perseverance. I strongly encourage eligible students and families to take advantage of this opportunity and apply.”
In addition to financial need, scholarship recipients are selected based on community involvement, leadership experience, and academic performance. Applicants must not be children of Rotary Club members. Application materials typically include essays, teacher recommendations, and documentation highlighting service and leadership.
At-Large Councilman Spadola emphasized the broader community impact of the program, noting that investments in local students help strengthen Wilmington’s future workforce and civic life.
