Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval.If approved, Council would be requesting that the Federal Communications Commission enforce its policies regarding the prohibition against graphic and vulgar content of programming and take appropriate action against media outlets that repeatedly violate regulations. The Resolution says that such violations of FCC policy serve to promote a culture of violence and disrespect leading to the degradation of women and minorities and a blatant disregard for human life.

Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by the City Council for Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be rescinding City Council Ordinance 12-028 adopted in June of 2012 that would have allowed livestock to be kept or housed at inspection or resting facilities in the City that are related to the export of such livestock from the Port of Wilmington

 Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be approving an agreement between the City, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and the Rotary Club of Wilmington regarding certain improvements to H. Fletcher Brown Park, which is bordered by Market Street, Orange Street, 14th Street and the Brandywine River. Improvements would include an outdoor amphitheater, public event space, play spaces among other amenities that would enhance the appearance, functionality and community use of the Park. This effort is being carried out in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Rotary Club of Wilmington.

Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be authorizing certain revisions to Chapter 48 of the City Code related to floodplain management regulations in order for the City to continue to meet the Federal requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program.

Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be authorizing a public hearing on December 18, 2014 to consider certain revisions to Chapter 48 of the City Code related to floodplain management regulations in order for the City to continue to meet the Federal requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program. The City Planning Commission is scheduled to meet on December 16, 2014 to review the proposed amendments to the City Code related to floodplains and floodprone areas.

Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be authorizing the City Administration to transfer the title of two City-owned properties at 1409 and 1411 Marsh Road to Peter DiRado so he may use the properties as a side yard. The Resolution also authorizes the City Administration to transfer the title of a City-owned property at 303 North Broom Street to Scott Hedrick so he may use the property as a side yard. The City’s Real Estate and Housing Department had determined that theCity no longer needs the properties on Marsh Road or the property on Broom Street.

Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval.If approved, Council would be authorizing an extension to March 2, 2015 for the City Planning Commission to review and submit a report regarding proposed amendments to the City Zoning Map related to the former Wilmington Finishing Company property. The deadline for the City Planning Commission to review and submit a report on this matter had previously been extended by Council to December 2, 2014.

Synopsis: This Ordinance is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be authorizing an amendment to Chapter 45 of the City Code regarding the members of the Wilmington Water, Sewer and Stormwater Citizens Advisory Board (CAB). Specifically, this Ordinance would allow no more than one of the five members of the CAB to reside outside of the City limits, as long as that member lives within the New Castle County limits and works in the City of Wilmington. Currently, all members of the CAB are required to be residents of the City of Wilmington.

Synopsis: This Resolution is being presented by the Administration for City Council’s review and approval. If approved, Council would be authorizing the City Administration to accept two grants to assist the Wilmington Police Department. The first grant totals $4,800 from the Delaware Special Law Assistance Fund and would be used by the WPD for flotation devices for the WPD’s marine unit. The second grant totals $5,000 from the State’s Department of Safety and Homeland Security, Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement and would be used by the WPD to fund overtime salaries for officers dedicated to fighting alcohol-related crime. No local match of funding is required for either grant.
