About Dr. LaRetha Odumosu

“Dr. O”

Dr. LaRetha C.P. Odumosu (“DrO”) is an education leader and consultant with over 15 years of experience in school leadership and organizational transformation. As a veteran school leader, Dr. O has led public schools in Philadelphia, PA, New Castle and Wilmington Delaware.  In these roles, she has spearheaded initiatives that improved student achievement, increased enrollment, and strengthened school operations.  As a consultant, DrO has supported schools and organizations across the Philadelphia region in leadership development, school improvement and change management. Dr. O has spent the past two decades serving schools in underserved communities, leading efforts that have resulted in academic growth, budget recovery, and improved school culture.

  • Designed and led strategic planning and execution processes for schools, aligning vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes.
  • Facilitated stakeholder engagement, including school leaders, educators, and community members, to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Guided schools in restructuring efforts, resulting in operational improvements, increased student enrollment, and enhanced instructional outcomes.
  • Developed and implemented talent management strategies to strengthen leadership capacity and staff retention.
  • Spearheaded initiatives that reduced chronic absenteeism, improved student discipline, and increased student access to high-quality programming.

DrO holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education from Temple University, an M.A. in English Literature from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.A. in English from Rutgers University. She is a dedicated advocate for equitable education and sustainable school improvement.
