Synopsis:         This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval.  This Resolution approves grant funding from the Community Support/Discretionary Funds of Council Member Coby J. Owens in the amount of $500 to Nuestras Raíces.

Synopsis:         This Ordinance is being presented by the City Council for Council’s review and approval.  This Ordinance amends chapter 4 of the city code regarding insect and rodent control for self-service storage facilities to establish requirements for self-service storage facilities will serve a valid public purpose, thereby promoting sanitary conditions, preventing pest infestations, protecting surrounding properties, and safeguarding the public health, safety, and welfare of city residents.

Synopsis:         This Resolution is being presented by City Council for Council’s review and approval.  This Resolution approves a total of $19,000 in grant funding to Cityfest, Inc. from Community Support/Discretionary Funds of Council Member Zanthia Oliver ($15,000), City Council President Ernest “Trippi” Congo, II ($1,500), and Council Members Christofer C. Johnson ($1,500), and Latisha Bracy ($1,000) to support expenses associated with the planning and hosting of the 6th Annual Millie Cannon Summer Concert.

Synopsis:         This Resolution is being presented by the Administration for Council’s review and approval.  This Resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works’ grant application to the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health (“DHSS”) for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund grant in the amount of $2,525,000, or such other amount that DHSS awards.  The funds will be used to reimburse the City for upgrades to the existing water distribution system in the Dunleith neighborhood to increase the available fire flow and system pressure in such neighborhood.  No local matching funds are required.

Synopsis:         This Ordinance is being presented by the City Council for Council’s review and approval.  This Ordinance amends Chapter 5, § 5-58 entitled Public Nuisances to establish a separate notice and appeal process for commercial properties by 1) making the requirement for written notice of the existence or potential existence of a public nuisance at the property prior to taking enforcement action discretionary; 2) eliminating the ten-day waiting period to enforce orders issued pursuant to this section; 3) eliminating the automatic stay of an order appealed to the L&I Review Board and instead allowing the commissioner of licenses and inspections or director of land use and planning to stay an order upon good cause shown by the appellant; and 4) if an order is not stayed, requiring that a hearing before the L&I Review Board take place within ten calendar days of a properly filed appeal.  This Ordinance also authorizes the director of land use and planning to take enforcement action, and it updates the provision related to service of notices to allow for contemporaneous posting and mailing of notices.

Synopsis:         This Ordinance is being presented by the City Council for Council’s review and approval.  This Ordinance rezones 2140 West Eleventh Street (being Tax Parcel No. 26-019.20-148) from a zoning classification of C-1 (Neighborhood Shopping) to a zoning classification of R-B-5 (Apartment Houses Medium Density) and 1010 North Bancroft Parkway (being Tax Parcel No. 26-019.20-144) from a zoning classification of C-1 (Neighborhood Shopping) to a split zoning classification of R-B-5 (Apartment Houses Medium Density) and C-2 (Secondary Business Centers).
