Wilmington, DE – Wilmington City Council is calling on residents across the City to help celebrate one of life’s most meaningful milestones, graduation. In partnership with the City’s award-winning government access channel, WITN22, Council is proud to announce the return of its “Salute to Graduates” video tribute, honoring the achievements of the Class of 2026.

Behind every graduate is a powerful story of perseverance, determination, long nights, and dreams realized. This video celebrates not only academic success, but also the resilience and bright futures of Wilmington’s young people. From kindergarten to college graduates, this tribute will showcase the faces and stories that represent the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers in our community.

Families, friends, and loved ones are encouraged to participate by submitting a photo of their graduate to be featured in the video, which will air on WITN22 and be shared across City Council’s digital platforms.

“This initiative is about community,” said President Pro Tempore and 6th District Councilwoman Yolanda McCoy. “We want every graduate to feel seen, celebrated, and supported as they take their next steps. Whether they’re entering the workforce, pursuing higher education, or chasing their dreams in new ways, we are proud of them.”

Council encourages residents to spread the word and help ensure that no graduate is left out. Let’s come together as one Wilmington to uplift the Class of 2026 and send them forward with pride, encouragement, and hope for all that lies ahead.
